Brilliant flaming red

tropical flower

of sun and rain

the bunga raya

national flower

of Malaysia

symbolising courage

life and growth

celebrating this

Independence Day.

    • The hibiscus rosa sinensis (bunga raya) is brilliant red in colour and was declared as Malaysia’s national flower in 1960. It is also featured in currency notes, coins and stamps.
