Street art versus graffiti

Any difference

  5. An important question raised in this thoughtful poem, Iris…the graffiti of the 80s has drifted across to the art of today with the beautiful, unique murals that decorate many of our towns and cities. There are also the political murals which are another matter! Wishing you a lovely Sunday, my friend! πŸ˜€β€οΈ

    • Hi Annika, delighted to hear your thoughts on this… thanks for your views and perspective. Today there are different artists who are either commissioned to paint their murals or just a group of people who join in painting their street art! I understand some have been asked to do paintings for their cities to beautify public space… to attract tourists. Have a great week ahead, my friend. ⚘ β™₯️

  6. It took me a while to see the difference. I think graffiti is disorganized, raw, and a rather random expression of angst or even anger.

    • Expressions of art as I understand, is at the crossroads… once graffiti as you say, expressed emotional feelings. But, street art today, is now seen as a visual form of art and accepted in different countries at art galleries and museums! Thanks for your reflection and I appreciate your thoughts on this, Imelda.Β
