Rainbow Over The Lake

Sun’s rays

in misty rain

multi-coloured rainbow

paints the sky

~

Above the blue lake

birds gliding

waltzing in the breeze

~

Verdant pastures

wildflowers and haystacks

never ending stretches

of undulating

green hills

~

Over and beyond

a quaint thatched cottage

still stands

This May Morning

Verdant green valley

meandering river

beyond the hills

the fields

with wildflowers in every hue

the winds all silent.

Spring Sweet Spring

This is that joyous morn

the fields with flowers

in every hue …

the beauty of spring!

Beyond the hills

the river runs

cool, cool waters.

Skylark sings flying

that spring morn

a sweet song

the fields breathe

spring sweet spring.

The River Flows

On a starry silvery night sky

A brilliant golden moon shines

Below the hills

the gentle river flows.

In The Cool, Cool Of The Morning

Garden of Paradise

Exotic flora

Hanging flower baskets

of wild orchids

Terracotta pots

of red and white anthuriums

on the patio.

~

To the garden

of Bougainvillea vines

Bright green bamboo plants

delicate foliage

beside stream

of golden Japanese koi

swimming in shoals.

~

Rooftop café

with a view

of the hills

and tropical fruit farm

Early morning quietude

over breakfast

delicious pastries

A light breeze

and the harmony

of birds twittering

in a conducive

garden environment

A bliss of serenity.

The Hills Are Alive!

Nestled in the hills

a quaint country town

home-made jams and conserves

relishes and honey

farm fresh produce.

~

The thriving township

with wineries

cheese and dairy factories

sheep and cattle farming

verdant green pastures

in the valley.

~

European villagers

operate bakeries

cafes and restaurants

charming cottages

homes and gardens

winding roads

meadows

pretty wildflowers

haystacks

cool meandering streams.

~

A village that has much character

art and craft shops

picture galleries

cobblestone streets

music in the air

yodeling on the hills

what olde world charm!
