A Postcard With Love

Where East meets West

An elegant home

The Grand Old Dame

A profusion of red and white Bougainvillea

and palm trees

by the terrace gardens

at the poolside

Sheer luxury

on this tropical isle.

~

Well known writers and poets

have stayed here

have been so inspired

by its beauty and history

Large and airy rooms

balconies overlooking

the vast ocean

Heritage by the sea.

~

The grand ballroom with crystal chandeliers

A popular venue

for functions and concerts

book launches

Dining outlets

fine and casual

or out on the patio

overlooking the seafront

Smooth jazz music

fine food at 1885

friends beckoning me

See you later …

Over Moonlight Bay

Moonbeams shining

Waves softly breaking

Music of the sea

Some enchanted evening.

A Postcard From …

A trip on a funicular railway

to hilltop sites, hiking and exploring

Lunch at a colonial bungalow

Tastefully refurbished

with spacious balconies

Offering birds eye view

of hill country landscape

~

Round the island trip

on a hop on, hop off bus

Novel way of seeing interesting

Beach and city views

and cultural enclave

You hop on and hop off

at any stop to walk about

Take photos

or just enjoy a cuppa

at the tea-house

and watch the world go by …

~

Evening boat cruise

captures harbour lights

and the stunning sunset

As it lights up the evening sky

to a warm orange glow

Where sparkling stars

begin to twinkle

And the gentle breeze

adds to the day’s

experience and reflection

On this eclectic

Isle of palms.

All Eyes On Them!

Smartly dressed

in black and white

Here they come

parading in

from the sea

Precisely at dusk

The fairies of

Phillip Island.

The Hills Are Alive!

Nestled in the hills

a quaint country town

home-made jams and conserves

relishes and honey

farm fresh produce.

~

The thriving township

with wineries

cheese and dairy factories

sheep and cattle farming

verdant green pastures

in the valley.

~

European villagers

operate bakeries

cafes and restaurants

charming cottages

homes and gardens

winding roads

meadows

pretty wildflowers

haystacks

cool meandering streams.

~

A village that has much character

art and craft shops

picture galleries

cobblestone streets

music in the air

yodeling on the hills

what olde world charm!
